The Kidney Centre was
once merely a dream of a few dedicated individuals
in 1985, today by the Grace of God and the help of
generous individuals and corporations the Kidney Centre
continues to grow and fulfil that dream. As a result
of which, today The Kidney Centre is one of the largest
up-to-date medical facility providing comprehensive
and quality renal care to thousands of poor patients
– either entirely free or largely subsidized.
Although, conceived as a not-for-profit institution,
the actual fact is that nearly 75% of its patients
fall into this non-affording category.
The Kidney Centre initiated a small dialysis unit
with just two machines, now it is a 100 bed, specialist
institution providing complete care for nephro-urological
diseases. It also serves as an excellent teaching,
research and continuing educational institution for
nephrology, urology and related fields. TKCI is certified
with the Societies Registration Act, Voluntary Social
Welfare Agency Ordinance, and the Pakistan Centre
of Philanthropy.
